Executive Director for Human Resources
Savannah Technical College is seeking an experienced individual to serve as Executive Director for Human Resources. Under limited supervision, this position directs all human resources and payroll functions, including, but not limited to compensation, benefits, recruitment, employee relations and training for Savannah Technical College. Typical duties may include:
• Implementing human resources policies to ensure compliance with Technical College System of Georgia policies and state and federal laws;
• Serving as Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) coordinator to ensure workplace accommodation compliance;
• Implementing and monitoring the recruitment and hiring process;
• Preparing and monitoring the college's affirmative action plan;
• Ensuring compliance with Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requirements;
• Coordinating employee drug testing operations;
• Processing and verification of new employee background and Homeland Security database checks;
• Implementing and monitoring employee training programs;
• Processing worker's compensation claims and facilitating return to work;
• Preparing and administering annual departmental budget;
• Entering and processing personnel/payroll transactions as needed;
• Directing the provision of employee benefits in compliance with state and federal laws, to include the Affordable Care Act (ACA);
• Administering the performance management process;
• Serving as primary custodian of personnel records;
• Providing guidance to management on specific human resource problems and concerns;
• Processing disciplinary actions, adverse actions, grievances and other employer relations matters;
• Supervising or directing the work of subordinate staff;
• Serving as Title IX and Equity Coordinator;
• Directing the handling and response to requests received under the Georgia Open Records Act;
• Performing other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree from a accredited college or university *and* five (5) years of full-time work experiience in a supervisory human resources role.
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to minimum qualifications)
• Master's Degree in Human Resources or related field.
• PHR, SPHR, and/or SHRM-CP certification strongly desired.
• Experience with PeopleSoft HCM and Microsoft Office Suite strongly preferred.
• Work experience within the Technical College System of Georgia.
• Demonstrated leadership and employee training experience.
Physical Demands
Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting or walking in various settings. Must frequently lift and carry lightweight objects. Full range of hand and finger motion is required for data entry purposes.

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Benefits package. .
