Under broad supervision, the Financial Forensic Auditor uses accounting, auditing, computer, and investigative skills to assist in examining financial evidence of an alleged crime. This position supports the Criminal Investigations Division.
Prepares spreadsheets and charts for presentations and courtroom testimony.
Leads or conducts auditing of establishments and determines the scope of investigation required.
Oversees the preparation of detailed reports on audit findings, asset utilization, and audit results.
Plans and conducts audits requiring technical expertise.
Research data, prepare and submit final audit reports, issues assessments, and resolve related issues.
Reviews audit reports for substance, correct methodology, accuracy, completeness, and adequacy.
Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Audits accounting and statistical data, ledger accounts, financial and other related records of external vendors to verify accuracy.
Completes selected portions of audits as part of an audit team or may complete complex audits independently.
Performs other duties assigned.
