Job Duties
- Manages the goals and objectives of curriculum implementation
- Documents results and recommends changes and improvements based on research and evaluation data
- Maintains GaDOE curriculum standards, sets performance goals and objectives
- Evaluates curricula, teaching methods and programs to determine their effectiveness, efficiency, and utilization to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Conducts local school needs assessments to coordinate and execute effective staff development and technical assistance to support curriculum implementation level throughout the school year
- Provide professional leadership in organizing, administering, supervising, and evaluating the effective operation of the division
- Works with district and other GaDOE staff to develop strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching practices and academic performance measures
- Works with director of assessment to coordinate division assessment program
- Travel may be required
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualification possess one or more of the following:
- Content area endorsement(s) per Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC)
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Proficient in Braille instruction
- Specialist or PhD/EdD in content area, leadership, or curriculum
- Experience in curriculum development and implementation
