PeopleSoft Batch Automation Systems Analyst
The State Accounting Office (SAO) provides accounting and financial reporting expertise for the State and is statutorily responsible for statewide financial reporting. The SAO also provides enterprise oversight and management of the State’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, accounting policy development, financial business process improvement recommendations, and management of the payroll and accounting shared service centers.
Position Description:
Note: This is a time-limited, at-will employment position assigned to a project with an approximate 2 to 5 year life cycle.
We are seeking a PeopleSoft Batch Automation Systems Analyst who will automate SAO’s Peoplesoft batch by closely working with the business analysts, DBAs, system administrators and developers. This role will manage existing batch flows and develop and implement future solutions for automated and technical monitoring procedures. This role will establish and enforce standards, process, and rigor around the scheduling of all production PeopleSoft jobs. The successful applicant must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and multi-task with minimal direction. The successful applicant will serve as a point of contact for all scheduling requests moving into the development, test, and production environments. The role will focus on PeopleSoft applications.
The candidate will be expected to:
- Understand the processes around the PeopleSoft application environment
- Perform day to day support coverage to the Control-M environment
- Partner with business analysts, technical developers, system, and database administrators as necessary
The candidate must have strong communication skills, ability to work within a team environment, as well as the ability to effectively prioritize and manage a wide variety of tasks.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze requirements from various teams to plan the flow of PeopleSoft processes into nightly batch
- Design, develop and maintain scheduled processes in BMC Control-M
- Implement high quality, scalable and extendable enterprise solutions
- Architect automated deployment management strategy with strong process built in
- Code Linux Shell scripts to run PeopleSoft application processes and schedule them in Control-M
- Support BMC Control-M Process flows for production and test environment
- Trouble-shoot BMC Control-M issues and provide support to business analysts and developers
- Design and implement continuous integration framework supporting multiple methodologies
- Develop and maintain operational documentation for schedulers, operators, and administrators
- Operate on a scheduled 24-hour on-call basis
- Manage user accounts in SAO’s Secure FTP server
- Manage data transfers securely with business partners
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of various data transfer/encryption methodologies, such as, secure FTP, PGP encryption, etc.
- Working knowledge of Unix or Linux operating systems.
- Working knowledge on one or more scripting or programming language such as: shell scripting, Perl, Java, JavaScript, PHP.
- Working knowledge of Oracle databases and SQL scripting.
Minimum Qualifications:
This position will be filled at a level commensurate with the selectee's education and experience at one of the following levels:
Systems Analyst 2 – ITP021
Pay Grade: K
Salary range: $41,268.09 - $57,000.00
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience OR Associate's/Vocational/Technical degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of related experience OR One year of experience at the lower level Systems Analyst 1 (ITP020) or position equivalent. Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
Systems Analyst 3 – ITP022
Pay Grade: L
Salary range: $45,982.94 - $67,000.00
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of related experience OR Associate's/Vocational/Technical degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of related experience OR One year of experience at the lower level Systems Analyst 2 (ITP021) or position equivalent. Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
Systems Analyst 4 – ITP023
Pay Grade: M
Salary range: $51,310.72 - $77,000.00
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of related experience OR Associate's/Vocational/Technical degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Seven years of related experience OR One year of experience at the lower level Systems Analyst 3 (ITP022) or position equivalent. Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, possess the following:
- Experience in BMC Control-M version 8 or above
- General software development background
- Working experience of PeopleSoft Financials and/or HCM application(s)
- Working experience in public sector
- Knowledge of networking, firewalls, cybersecurity, etc.
