Ogeechee Technical College is seeking a Café Assistant (Part-Time) that will be will assist with all duties associated with opening the Café. Job Responsibilities include the following:
·Assists with food preparation, opens registers, operates point of sale system and aids customers along with other duties associated with the opening of the Café.
·Serves food items at scheduled mealtimes according to standardized procedures;
·Assists in preparing meals for on campus functions, etc., when requested;
·Checks and balances cash register receipts.
·Assists with conducting inventory.
·Follows safety food handling procedures to ensure the health and safety of customers;
·Operates and maintains food service equipment;
·Reports maintenance needs to the supervisor immediately;
·Assists in stocking shelf items, freezer, and coolers as items are received;
·Operates dishwasher for cleaning and sanitizing pots, pans, dishes, trays and utensils; Cleans tables and chairs and removes trash;
·Performs cashier duties; collects money and gives change to customers; operates credit/debit card machine.
Work Hours: 7 AM to 2:15 PM
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
·Minimum one year foodservice experience
·High school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
ServSafe Certification
Work experience in retail sales, marketing and merchandising with an emphasis in customer service
Knowledge of basic food safety practices for preparing and serving food
Knowledge of personal hygiene
Knowledge of proper cleaning methods and uses of the correct chemicals
Knowledge of cash register operation
Physical Demands Work is typically performed in a office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. Employee frequently lifts and carries objects of a light to medium weight. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes. Drivers License and evidence of insurability required.
Salary/Benefits
Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package. Positions are contingent upon funding.
