 Lanier Technical College – (www.laniertech.edu) is gearing up for increased student enrollment for both Summer Semester (beginning May 20th, 2024) and Fall Semester (beginning August 12th, 2024).  Therefore, we are conducting a search now for the following part-time, non benefits-eligible, FLSA-exempt position. POSITION: ADJUNCT ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY INSTRUCTOR - Different Campus Locations Available

REPORTS TO: General Education Program Chair

SALARY: Targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours

TARGET START DATES:  SUMMER SEMESTER - MAY 20TH, 2024

                                                FALL SEMESTER - AUGUST 12TH, 2024

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Adjunct faculty responsibilities are centered on preparing and teaching classes as assigned:

  • Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus. Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives;
  • Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught;
  • Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives;
  • Administers and grades class examinations;
  • Maintains records of student grades;
  • Meets all required deadlines;
  • Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed;
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training and laboratory areas;
  • Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.

This position is available at all Lanier Tech campus locations; day and evening classes available. 

 

NOTE: Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic-term basis.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master's degree in Medical Biology or medical field with appropriate subject-related coursework from a regionally accredited college or university; OR a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Anatomy and Physiology coursework from a regionally accredited college or university; OR a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials
Knowledge of vocational area of assignment
Skill in presenting subject matter
Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress
Skill in the use of computers and job related software programs
Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners
Oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of student information systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies):
Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level;
Experience with online teaching platforms
