The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) is currently seeking a Unit Manager– in the Office of Facility and Asset Services.

The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) currently manages the delivery of IT infrastructure services to 89 Executive Branch agencies and managed network services to more than 1,200 state and local government entities. IT infrastructure services encompass mainframes, servers, service desk, end user computing, disaster recovery and security. Managed network services include the state’s wide and local area networks, voice, cable and wiring, and conferencing services.

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Unit Manager, Facilities is responsible for the management of facility operations, office space, record management, assets, access management, parking management, and enterprise risk management to include safety and security requirements. Manages subordinate staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Manages the daily operations in support of GTA’s general office/facility management & supplies, and acts as GTA agency-wide support functions.

·         Leads/manages internal GTA staff performing as GTA’s internal support group for office/facility needs across the organization.

·         Work with internal GTA offices & GTA vendors on how we can improve and/or elaborate on processes and procedures related to asset management and compliance.

·         Provides direct oversight of GTA staff providing internal day-to-day assistance for GTA employees and all other services necessary for GTA employees to perform duties as assigned.

·         Manages the maintenance of records and databases containing information regarding warranties, and service agreements for GTA and GTA Customers.

·         Reviews facility inspections and tracks maintenance and repairs.

·         Monitor the GTA Supply Room, for the distribution of various office supplies, and none IT related office equipment when requested, provide card access and all other services necessary for GTA employees to perform duties as assigned.

·         Work closely with internal divisions to include SMO, Procurement, GTA CTO, and ASO on policies, and standards and provide information to all teams to ensure that informed decisions can be made to manage budget, governance, compliance, and risk management.

·         Maintain maintenance of property records and databases (BLLIP), containing information regarding licenses (Resource Scheduler), warranties, and maintenance agreements as it relates to GTA’s office/facility space.

·         Research best practices to ensure that the department is in line with industry standards and make recommendations for changes if required.

·         Utilizes various tools (i.e., Asset Works, Peoplesoft Asset Management, GBA Ghost Guard Security Access System) to track none IT related assets.

·         Develop, implement, and refine asset/facilities processes and procedures for the GTA organization.

·         Manage GTA offices & floor space leased for GTA operations, including facility/office access requirements in coordination with GBA policy/procedures.

·         Work with SMO, GTA CTO & GETS Service Providers to identify hardware and software to be purchased for internal use of GTA. 

·         Manage GTA Internal Asset and Facilities Management team.

·         Serves as GTA Agency Risk and Property Coordinator.

·         Collaborates with the agency’s ADA Coordinator(s) and OHR staff on external requests.

·         Conduct inventory and reconcile all non-IT supplies/equipment within its related database.

·         Life-cycle administration of non-IT asset and equipment inventory.

·         Partners alongside agency leadership to devise a unified business strategy as it relates to Assets and Facilities.

·         Recommends, develops, and implements and/or services.

·         Provides input to the development of standards.

·         Develops and maintains effective working relationships internal and external contacts.

·         Directs human capital development for their office.

·         Drives, fosters, and supports the Executive Leadership Team through effective communication and talent management.

·         Oversees unit training to ensure all staff members possess the requisite processes for their respective roles.

·         Participate in the annual development and monitoring of the department’s budget, allocating funds following budget approval of expenditures.

·         Performs all other duties as assigned.

AGENCY SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and one (1) year of asset management experience including two (2) years of managing lower level staff.

Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications: 

(Preference will be given to candidates who, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience):

·         PeopleSoft Asset Management System

·         Experience in State, Local or County Government Facilities and Property Management

 

COMPENSATION/WORKER TYPE/ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

Hiring Salary: *$83,500.00

Worker Type: Hybrid – State of Georgia Remote Work Option

*Current Georgia state government employees will be subject to SPB rule provisions.
