OUR WORKFORCE

The Georgia Department of Transportation, an agency with a distinctive culture of innovation and collaboration, meets the goals of the vision and mission by offering a wide variety of careers and employs a team of employees dedicated to serving the Citizens of Georgia and traveling public. This diverse workforce includes engineers designing bridges, interstates, and roadways to maintenance and HERO operators. GDOT also offers other administrative and professional support roles.

The Department has a continuous recruitment for Civil Engineers, Construction Management Engineers, Highway Emergency Response Operators (HEROs) and Maintenance Labor Workers.

Under general supervision, provides investigative and comprehensive case management for a caseload involving child/adult abuse or neglect. Makes immediate and follow-up actions for at risk clients in need of protective services and/or placement. Works in collaboration with legal system to ensure safety and achieve desired outcomes. Performs initial investigations of protective services referrals to determine the appropriateness of protective services intervention. Makes immediate assessments regarding safety of clients and responds according to established protocol and policies. Maintains required documentation and completes reports. Initiates the legal process for guardianship, protective services, placement and/or adoption. Identifies placement resources for children within the foster care system. Develops case plans that effectively utilize community resources to meet needs of individual custodial client. Coordinates and monitors services, including comprehensive tracking of client's activities. Coordinates and monitors children in out-of-home placements and in-home interventions. Conducts home-visit evaluations for information gathering to be used in assessments. Compiles records and prepares reports; performs follow-up to determine the status of client's case. Collects evidence, interviews witnesses, and prepares necessary reports according to rules and regulations, state and federal laws. Accesses and records client and community resource information
Master's degree in any behavioral science from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience at lower level Social Svcs Spec 1 (SSP070) or position equivalent.
