Job Description: 


Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their Adjunct Avionics Instructor position, in the Aviation Maintenance Technology division. This position is located  at ATC’s (Main Campus), which is just South of Downtown Atlanta.



Under general supervision, the Adjunct Avionics Instructor will be responsible for demonstrating the use of appropriate teaching techniques. Demonstrating the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping as required. Demonstrating the use of appropriate technical knowledge in the teaching of the assigned subject area. Demonstrating the effective use of oral and written communication skills. Demonstrating knowledge of current business and industry applications in the assigned subject area. Following approved course syllabus. Monitoring students' use of supplies, materials, and equipment. Advising and counseling students and maintaining appropriate advisement records on each student assigned to advised. Establishing and ensuring adherence to health and safety requirements in assigned classrooms and laboratories. Attending meetings as required and appropriate. Observing and enforcing the institution's policies and regulations. Assisting with student recruitment and job placement as directed by division director. Serving on committees as directed and coordinated by division director. Maintaining qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College system of Georgia Policy Manual. Following rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.




Must possess and demonstrate a Technical Diploma in related field from an accredited college or university AND three (3) years of related experience and/or training.  Must possess and demonstrate excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills. Must possess and demonstrate proficient computer skills, especially in the use of MS-Office, particularly Word and Outlook. Must be student oriented and customer friendly.




Must possess current FAA Airframe and PowerPlant License with at least five (5) years of field experience.  Possess and demonstrate an FCC license.  Work experience must include the competencies, skills and knowledge levels taught in the Aviation Maintenance program.  Possess and demonstrate an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university.  Possess and demonstrate post-secondary teaching experience, curriculum development, and program recruitment experience in a two-year college environment.  CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (FAA, FCC,CET, IS PREFERRED); 



WORK SCHEDULE: Monday thru Thursday (Nights) and Saturdays as needed.  May be required to teach at other locations and other locations within the community.
