Adjunct/Part Time Air Conditioning Technology Instructors
Savannah Technical College seeks part-time instructors for the Air Conditioning Technology program. The instructor will report to the Dean of Industrial Technology and will be based at the Savannah or Liberty Campus, but may be required to travel to other Savannah Technical College locations. The instructor is responsible for teaching students in classroom, laboratory, and construction environments. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Preparing lesson plans for classroom instruction
- Developing program syllabi, goals, and objectives
- Delivering instruction, performing live laboratory demonstrations, and assessing student progress
- Ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the classroom and laboratory area
- Requesting and maintaining supplies and equipment
- Maintaining program certification requirements, as appropriate
- Preparing and maintaining required documentation and administrative reports
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Air Conditioning Technology (OR) Five (5) years of documented work experience in the HVAC field.
- Current EPA Section 608 Certification required.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of programs required.
- Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills along with computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience at a secondary or postsecondary institution.

Physical Demands
Teaching responsibilities are typically performed in a classroom/laboratory/construction environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for three (3) – four (4) continuous hours at a time. The employee frequently lifts objects up to 50LBS. The work is performed in buildings and outdoors where the employee is occasionally exposed to cold or inclement weather. The exposure to dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, chemicals, and fumes is possible in the laboratory environment. The ability to distinguish colors is required for purposes of electrical wiring

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience.
