Medical Assisting Adjunct Instructor - Pool
Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Medical Assisting Adjunct Instructor is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction for the program.
Essential Functions

· Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses.
· Prepares standardized course syllabi using the provided template.
· Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives based on established course grading requirements.
· Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
· Teaches Medical Assisting courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.
· Provides instruction in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective areas of Medical Assisting.
· Measures program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success and submits results to the program director.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises program students.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office and medical assisting professional equipment and technologies.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Thursday between 7am – 6pm.
Travel
Travel to other campus locations may be required to complete course requirements. Travel to clinical sites is required for certain courses.
Required Education and Experience
· Associate Degree in Medical Assisting or a Health-Related Field from an approved accredited institution
· Medical Assisting Certification with AAMA (CMA) or AMT (RMA)
· 3 years of full-time experience in the field of Medical Assisting
· Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Health-Related Field
- Teaching experience at the postsecondary level
- Experience teaching in an online or hybrid environment
