Job Summary:

Under supervision, performs professional level finance, accounting and fiscal control functions. Performs and/or oversees financial planning, documentation, analysis, reporting and system development. May coordinate the design or implementation of financial/ accounting/budget-related systems and reports.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Update project information in Projects Management application.
  • Analyze documentation and verify data to ensure accuracy.
  • Organize and prepare project documentation for storage in electronic records management system.
  • Compile project data and prepare for supervisor review.
  • Assist in monitoring the status of project approvals, changes and deletions.
  • Assist in programming projects, including geographic location information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The selected candidate must meet the advertised minimum qualifications to include Entry Qualifications as well as Agency Specific Qualifications

 

Entry Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of job-related experience in accounting, billing, collection systems, or claims;
  • OR One (1) year of professional job-related experience in general accounting, billing, and collection systems and/or claims.

 

Agency Specific Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze, verify and monitor project data for accuracy.
  • Ability to gather, organize, research, evaluate, maintain information and communicate it in either verbal or written form.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills with careful attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations and see details in numbers quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to recall information that has been presented on the job.
  • Demonstrated competency using spreadsheets, word processing and database applications.
  • Experience with PDF software.
  • Possesses the ability to understand cardinal directions and identify geographic locations.
  • Demonstrated ability working effectively with managers, staff, other department personnel, and external organizations in a cooperative and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills/reconciliation.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to change.
  • Committed to providing quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively.
  • Displays a high level of initiative and ethical conduct.
  • Willingness to acquire training to gain full proficiency and experience in job related areas.

 

 

Agency Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing technical documents and/or reports.
  • Demonstrated intermediate knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel, including proficiency in formatting spreadsheets and using formulas.
  • Experience with PDF software to create, format and edit documents (Adobe, Bluebeam, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and interpreting geographic location data.
  • Demonstrated strong initiative and ability to make independent recommendations to improve workflow and procedures.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL GDOT JOBS

The interview is just one part of the overall selection process and is not the only criteria used to make the final selection.  In addition to the interview, the final selection is based on the applicant’s work history and performance (documented in HR and/or Office files), PeopleSoft/employee status (i.e. rehire code), employee performance reviews, personnel file review (HR & Office Files), criminal background check, employment reference checks (including references and commendations from Managers and other relevant documentation) and, for supervisory positions, demonstrated leadership skills based on past and current work history will be considered.  

Good Employment Standing:

In accordance with the Interview and Selection Process (ISP), an applicant must have no active disciplinary actions to be in good employment standing.  Actions that may disqualify an applicant include letters of reprimand (active for 12 months after issuance date); suspension without pay or disciplinary demotion (active for 12 months from the effective date); Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) and Leave Restriction Plans (active until 12 months after the date of conclusion).  In addition, an employee must have an overall ePerformance rating score of three (3) or higher on their most current evaluation.  Please note that Memorandums of Concern are not considered disqualifying factors.  Human Resources may remove any employee from consideration for selection who is pending a disciplinary action; however, if the action is resolved in the employee’s favor, he or she will be allowed to compete.
