 Job Description, Responsibilities, Standards and Qualifications:

Under general supervision of the CACJ Data and Research Program Manager, this position provides policy analysis, research, and statistical expertise to the Council of Accountability Court Judges (CACJ). The Research Analyst is responsible for performing professional research and analytic work associated with the internal analysis of accountability court program and individual-level data to evaluate established performance measures.  The position frequently interacts with Georgia judges, court professionals, partners and stakeholders, and national experts and requires independent judgment, excellent organization and communication skills, and exceptional customer service skills.

This is a hybrid position that requires in-office and remote work with the approval of your supervisor. Your days of frequency in the office can change at any time during your employment based on the business needs of the organization. Travel requirements include driving statewide with occasional overnight stay.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

       Evaluates statistical data or reports to identify agency/program performance trends;

       Analyzes programmatic and operational data; investigates and documents underlying trends, irregularities and possible causes for changes in data;

       Analyze individual-level data; investigates and documents underlying trends, irregularities, and possible causes for changes in data;

       Conducts research, studies and analyses that frequently have statewide impact;

       Defines data requirements and gathers and validates information, applying judgment and statistical tests;

       Serves on a data team involved in programmatic and operational research initiatives;

       Organizes and tabulates data using a variety of techniques including database software spreadsheets, statistical tables, charts and graphs;

       Prepares models of problems for determination that relates constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives and their parameters;

       Responds to routine and special requests for data;

       Analyzes and disseminates data to CACJ, executive-level committees, and local courts, as requested;

       Prepares reports, and makes recommendations or determinations based on analysis;

       Evaluates data for quality and completeness; and

       Participate in executive-level meetings as requested.

       Performs related duties.  

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related in a related area such as statistics, sociology, psychology, political science, public health, urban planning, criminal justice, public administration, or similar fields from an accredited college or university AND two years of related experience. Undergraduate coursework must have included an evaluation, statistics, and research component (for example, evaluation, research design, research methods, statistics, and related fields). Accountability court or judicial system experience.  

High School Diploma/GED with four (4) years of job-related experience in planning analysis, analyzing data, designing surveys, preparing and writing reports of findings or work related to the area of assignment; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Research Analyst 1 (EDP040) or position equivalent..
