Savannah Technical College serves Coastal Georgia with quality, market-driven technical education with campus locations in Chatham, Effingham and Liberty Counties. Serving more than 10,000 credit and non-credit students annually, Savannah Tech offers nearly 150 different instructional programs in addition to Adult Education classes, industry-specific training and continuing education. Savannah Technical College is seeking a Property Accountant Specialist.  The Property Accountant Specialist is responsible for ensuring accountability of property and updating accounting records.  Duties include:

  • Accurately verifies receipt of property and ensure state identification number/decals are applied to property
  • Supervises the property record management system according to established guidelines
  • Performs monthly reconciliation of all capital assets
  • Assigs all new employees with initial inventory and conducts inventory of all resigned/terminated employees
  • Coordinates and participates in annual physical inventory of property
  • Ensures property is transferred or disposed properly
  • Obtains the proper signatures when assets are transferred or disposed
  • Maintains a clean and organized warehouse
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the storage area
  • Prepares insurance related reports
  • Other administrative duties as assigned by Vice President of Administrative Services

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree "and" Three (3) years of work related experience
  • Note:  Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in the following computer programs/applications: PeopleSoft Financials, Asset Works, and WorkDay
  • Experience working within the Technical College System of Georgia
  • Ability to operate a fork-lift

Physical Demands

Work requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, crouching, and lifting objects under 50 pounds.  Full range of hand and finger motion is required for data entry purposes.

Salary/Benefits

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience.  Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
