OVERVIEW

DBHDD operates state hospitals and provides for community-based services across the state through contracted providers. The department serves people living with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgia’s public safety net, our primary responsibility is to serve people who are uninsured. We also serve individuals on Medicaid and others with few resources or options.

Purpose of the Position: Under general supervision manages patient flow for Express STI clinics facilitates collection of laboratory testing and collaborates with clinical team for the assessment and reporting of lab results to clients.  May facilitate additional scheduling of appointments as needed. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties.

 

Essential Functions (include, but are not limited to):

·       Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.

·       Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas.

·       Answers clients’ calls and determines how to assist them.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college AND Two years of LPN public health experience AND current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certification.                      

Preferred Qualifications: Excellent communication and customer service skills. Some public health and infectious disease experience helpful. Ability to speak Spanish preferred but not required.

 Work Conditions & Physical Demands: This position does not require a lot of physical exertion. May require some lifting, but no more than 50 lbs. Not always a sedentary position; will require some walking to/from and in/out chair. It does require flexibility of working in various areas of the clinic when necessary, and some outreach. Confidentiality and precise data entry is a must. Punctuality and assigned work schedule.

 Salary Information: $41,000 Annually | Pay Grade G | Grant funded position
