Lanier Technical College – (www.laniertech.edu) is gearing up for increased student enrollment for both Summer Semester (beginning May 20th) and Fall Semester (beginning August 12th). Therefore, we are conducting a search now for the following part-time, non-benefits eligible, FLSA non-exempt position. NOTE: A background check is part of the selection process. POSITION:         PART-TIME EMT/PARAMEDIC LAB ASSISTANT - HALL CAMPUS 

 
REPORTS TO:   Paramedicine Technology Program Director
START DATES:   SUMMER SEMESTER; MAY 20TH - JULY 25TH, 2024
                            FALL SEMESTER; AUGUST 12TH - DECEMBER 5TH, 2024
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will assist faculty members by performing routine standardized laboratory work that requires close attention to detailed procedures in the preparation, basic maintenance, and operation of laboratory equipment. Will assist in maintaining inventory and requisition of supplies. Will assist faculty members in supervision of students assigned to laboratories, and other related duties as assigned by Supervisor. Is employed on an individual academic term basis.
 
MAJOR DUTIES:
• Assist faculty members with classroom and lab instruction, exams, record keeping, adherence to safety procedures, evaluating lab skills of students and other miscellaneous tasks related to instruction
• Tutor or mentor students
• Accompany instructor/students to clinical setting and evaluate student performance, as needed
• Clean labs as needed
• Obtain materials needed for classes, including texts and other materials
• Maintain qualifications for employment as described by TCSG and accreditation standards
• Follows ALL deadlines as established by Lanier Technical College
• Follows rules and regulations as mandated by TCSG policy manual and Lanier Technical College
• Assist with special projects or initiatives as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent;

  Successful completion of State approved Advanced EMT or higher course(s);

  Obtained National Registry certification;
BLS certification;
Ability to obtain BLS Instructor certification within the first 6 months of hire.
 

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher; ACLS/PALS certifications
• National Registry Paramedic with 3 years experience (experience can be divided between a National Registry AEMT and also as a National Registry Paramedic).
• Instructor in NAEMT and AHA disciplines.
 
This position is available at the Hall campus; and day and evening classes available. 
 

NOTE: This is a temporary, part-time position that is appointed on a per-academic-term basis. This is an hourly-paid position; up to 29 hours per week while classes are in session; Monday - Thursday workweek.
