OVERVIEW

DBHDD operates state hospitals and provides for community-based services across the state through contracted providers. The department serves people living with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgia’s public safety net, our primary responsibility is to serve people who are uninsured. We also serve individuals on Medicaid and others with few resources or options.

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking candidates for the position of Housekeeper Team Lead at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta.

Job Grade C

Salary:  $29,826.00

Job Description:

Performs any combination of duties to maintain order, sanitation, and cleanliness in facilities. Maintains supplies as needed.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:  

  • Cleans and straightens assigned areas
  • Collects, sorts, launders, transports and distributes linens and uniforms
  • Ensures laundry, housekeeping and floor equipment is in good working condition
  • Maintains and stocks equipment and supplies as needed
  • May mend linens and assist in preventative maintenance and repair
  • Observes required safety precautions in disposing of contaminated refuse
  • Operates hand tools and power cleaning equipment
  • Participates in making, marking, altering and mending of clothing, linens, and other items
  • Presses and store all linens. 

Sample Technical Competencies:   

  1. Ability to clean assigned areas according to established procedures
  2. Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures
  3. Knowledge of the laundry processes and equipment
  4. Ability to maintain and operate equipment properly
  5. Ability to choose and use appropriate cleaning agents
  6. Ability to complete inspection forms for quality improvement program.

One year of experience as a lead worker in related area of assignment OR One year of experience at the lower level Housekeeper 2 (FES041) or position equivalent.
