Part Time/ Adjunct Criminal Justice Instructors (Liberty Campus)
Savannah Technical College is seeking Part Time/Adjunct Instructors for the Criminal Justice program. Opportunities currently exist at Liberty and Crossroads Campus locations.
The individuals are responsible for:
- Utilizing current curriculum and instructional materials to teach the state approved Criminal Justice curriculum to enrolled students.
- Preparing lesson plans for classroom instruction, developing program syllabi, goals and objectives.
- Evaluating students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
- Maintaining program certification requirements as appropriate.
- Preparing and maintaining all required documentation and administrative reports.
- Maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences.
- Ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
- Meeting with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional program and other issues impacting the progress of students.
- Assisting with student recruitment and retention efforts.
- Working diligently to maximize student placements in this field or related fields.
- Following rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia and other policies and procedures established by Savannah Technical College.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice (or related field) with 18 graduate semester hours in Criminal Justice or related studies.
- Preference will be given to those candidates who have teaching experience and five or more years recent work experience in Criminal Justice.
Physical Demands
Teaching responsibilities are typically performed in a classroom/lab environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for three (3) – four (4) continuous hours at a time. The employee frequently lifts/carries objects that weigh 10lbs. or less. Full range of hand & finger motion is required for data entry purposes.
Salary/Benefits
Salary is commensurate with education and work experience.
