Job Summary:
The Senior Manager, Facilities assists with directing the facility team's planning, development, and implementation of operational support services and capital projects. Directs subordinate managers and staff.
Job Description / Essential Functions:
• Creates a detailed preventative maintenance plan for all GDA state farmers’ markets.
• Manages maintenance, construction, renovation, and repair activities.
• Coordinates, reviews, monitors, and evaluates operational support services of a facility.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures relevant to facilities management operations.
• Develops, plans, coordinates, schedules, directs, and implements facility maintenance activities.
• Works with Finance, Market Management, and GDA leadership to develop an annual market maintenance budget.
• Manages and tracks all market maintenance‐related expenditures and creates an annual report.
• Conducts technical analyses and studies to determine infrastructure, facility, and physical plant needs.
• Oversees the procurement of facility‐related equipment and services for all Markets.
• Secures cost estimates, quotes, and proposals by agency policy.
• Conducts field reviews to inspect and assure compliance with maintenance and construction policies, procedures, and standards.
• Confirms work is performed by applicable guidelines, established practices, and agency expectations. Monitors work of vendors and contractors.
• Directs the alteration, modification, and/or upgrade of existing buildings, facilities, systems, and infrastructure.
• Acts as Owner’s Representative (Project Manager) to ensure maintenance and construction projects are completed within established guidelines.
• Assists Market Managers in performing Landlord and/or Property Manager responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Five (5) or more years of related work experience in state government.
-AND-
One or more of the following:
• Certification in cold storage, HVAC, electrical, and/or other trades.
• Detailed knowledge of fire/life safety codes, building codes, MEP codes, and/or ADA requirements.
• Five (5) or more years of experience as an Owner/Landlord representative in a multi‐building, multi‐tenant, and/or campus environment.
• Five (5) or more years of experience as an Owner’s Project Manager on construction projects of various sizes.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction, facilities management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Work Environment:
· This position operates in a variety of work environments including, but not limited to professional offices, industrial warehouses, construction sites, and farmers markets.
· This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
· This position requires performing physical tasks including, but not limited to the following: climbing ladders; walking on roofs; stooping, kneeling, or crawling in attics, basements, and crawlspaces; navigating mechanical rooms, and other tight spaces.
Other Duties:
This is a full‐time position and workdays are typically Monday through Friday. However, this position may occasionally require long hours, weekend work, and/or overnight travel to meet agency needs.
