Under direct supervision, performs paraprofessional accounting and fiscal control functions, such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll preparation, budget monitoring or related general accounting processes.
All District 4 Public Health, County BOH employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Distribution site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
Job Responsibilities:
- Travels up to 25-50 percent (with possible daily travel depending on needs) to all locations and performs physical inventory of fixed assets at for health departments and programs
- Manages Fixed Assets to include monthly entry, annual depreciation, transfers and disposals
- Conducts cash audits, semi-annual cash audits of all health departments and cash entities
- Verifies and prepares volunteer payroll by using excel spreadsheet
- Oversees gift card maintenance
- Oversees Health Department budgets
- Manages expense claims closings
- Back up to accounts payable
- Assists with month-end closeouts
- Assists with year-end closeouts
- Assists District Administrator and finance team with additional duties as assigned
Performance Standards:
- Maintain knowledge of allowable revenues and expenditures
- Maintain knowledge of financial policies and procedures
- Attend trainings and stay current with all policies and procedures
- Attend regular staff meetings
- Perform duties in a professional and timely manner
- Assists with other duties as needed
Accountant 1
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three years or more purchasing/procurement experience
- One year or more general accounting experience
- Three years or more accounts payable experience
- Knowledge of relevant accounting software

Minimum Qualifications:
