Job Opportunity: Accounts Payable Specialists II and III

    • Accounts Payable Specialists III - $55,000 - $60,000

Position Overview

In this role, you will manage end-to-end payment processing for assigned vendors and programs while researching and resolving any financial discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Review purchase orders, invoices, receipts, and supplier invoices. Prepare and enter supplier invoices to facilitate timely vendor payments.

  • Discrepancy Resolution: Research and resolve complex invoice, statement, or payment discrepancies with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Data Validation & Compliance: Maintain Excel tracking sheets and validate daily entries against system reports to monitor payments, flag compliance issues, and coordinate corrections.

  • Inbox & Workflow Management: Monitor and assist with maintaining the centralized accounting email inbox, supporting our paperless, digital environment.

  • Customer Support: Provide exceptional financial customer service to internal departments and external vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent experience working with a State of Georgia agency (within the last 4 years).

  • Two (2) years of recent accounts payable and data entry experience.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to multi-task with minimal supervision and adapt quickly to process improvements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for extended periods while utilizing a computer.

  • Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, or lift boxes to archive and pack physical files.

Employment Requirements:

Must pass an extensive pre-employment Georgia criminal background check and a post-hire federal background investigation. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of job-related accounting or fiscal experience; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Accounting Technician 2 (FIT021) or position equivalent.
