Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor – Electrical Technologies Program (Part-Time) position in the Industrial and Transportation Technologies Division. This position is located on Atlanta Tech's Main Campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.
Under general supervision of the Dean of Industrial & Transportation Technologies and the Electrical Technologies Program Department Chair, the Adjunct Instructor – Electrical Technologies Program (Part-Time) will demonstrate a passion for our Electrical Technologies program, guiding students through theoretical and practical courses associated with advanced techniques in the Electronics industry. This position involves creating and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to the overall success of the students. Through classroom, lab, and clinical instruction, the Adjunct Instructor – Electrical Technologies Program (Part-Time) will ensure students gain the comprehensive skills, knowledge, and professionalism required for success. This is a part-time position, working up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week.
Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- Demonstrate the proper use of appropriate teaching techniques.
- Demonstrate the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping materials.
- Demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching knowledge in teaching Electrical technology in subject areas such as residential and commercial wiring, pipe bending, fundamentals of AC and DC current, etc.
- Demonstrate the effective use of oral and written communication skills.
- Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for general core courses.
- Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
- Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports
- Follows approved course syllabus.
- Monitors students’ use of supplies, materials and equipment.
- Advises and counsels students and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student.
- Establishes and ensures adherence to health and safety requirements in assigned classrooms and laboratories in accordance with institutional and industry safety guidelines.
- Attend meetings as required and appropriate.
- Observe and enforce the institution’s policies and regulations.
- Assists with student recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.
- Maintain qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.
- Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution; and
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess and demonstrate a High School Diploma or equivalent AND be a Licensed Electrician with other credentials such as a diploma in the electrical field from an accredited institution with five (5) or more years of related experience. Knowledge of student information systems or previous teaching experience is a plus.
