POSITION: ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR/ RECRUITER
PRIMARY LOCATION: DeKalb Campus
DESCRIPTION: The Admissions Counselor/ Recruiter supports the enrollment efforts of the college by providing admissions information to prospective or newly admitted students, assisting in creating communication materials, and representing the college at on and off campus locations. This position will report to the Director of Admissions & Recruitment.
ESSENTIAL JOB
RESPONSIBILITIES: · Presents information about the benefits of technical education · Plans and implements all student recruitment activities to include campus tours, recruitment material mailings, maintains a recruitment mailing list, maintains social media sites, develops promotional gifts for events and serves as the technical college representative at college recruitment functions · Foster and develop relationships with schools, local businesses, community organizations and other areas for recruitment · Collaborates and recruit with other divisions and departments within the college · Communicates with prospective students, parents and community by providing information by telephone, written correspondence and in-person to interested parties regarding applicant procedures and admissions requirements · Receives and enters applications into the student information system · May conduct placement exams for applicants for enrollment · Ensures college and high school transcripts are submitted and verifies in-state residency · Remains up-to-date with admissions regulations, policies and procedures · Assists with registration functions · Maintains and audits student records and notifies prospective students and applicants with updates to their file including admissions document requirements, programs offered, testing requirements, etc. · Assist with the development of enrollment marketing materials publications and communications including letters, brochures, website postings, electronic mail and other mediums · Provides multi-campus support during registration, special events and tours. · Assist in planning implementing college wide Open Houses · Assist in planning and implementing monthly, multi-campus information sessions · May act as liaison for coordinating educational fairs at local businesses · Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of related work experience. NOTE: Experience may substitute for a degree on a year-to-year basis. PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university · Experience in the uses of Microsoft Office Suite and BANNER · 2-3 years’ experience in higher education, marketing, sales or a related field. · General working knowledge of Federal Financial Aid requirements · Experience working with individuals with diverse background NOTE: APPLICATIONS WILL BE SCREENED AT THE PREFERRED LEVEL. SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary for this position is $48k. This is a full-time position with paid state holidays; accrued annual and sick leave; and the State of Georgia Health and Flexible Benefits Program.
