Job Description:

Albany Technical College seeks a highly motivated part-time Associate of Science in Education adjunct Instructor.  Under general supervision, the Associate of Science in Education Adjunct prepares and delivers lectures and/or lab course materials.  He/she will prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction for Associate of Science in Education courses.  The adjunct will evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.   He/she will prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports.  The adjunct will display a high level of effort and commitment to performing work, and will operate effectively within the organizational structure while demonstrating trustworthiness and responsible behavior.  The adjunct accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately.   He/she will assist with recruitment retention and job placement efforts.  The adjunct should have basic computer skills, basic knowledge of online instructional delivery, and familiarity with learning platforms used in post-secondary education.  He/she must have functional knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.  Previous experience should include competencies, skills, and knowledge level which the instructor will be expected to teach. He/she must have excellent verbal, oral, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.

 

Minimum Qualifications: A Master’s degree in Elementary Education *AND* have two (2) years teaching experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:  Have three (3) years of teaching experience *AND*have experience with Blackboard or other online learning management systems.

Physical Demands:  Work is typically performed in a classroom setting with intermittent sitting or walking.  The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight. Hand and finger motion may be required for data entry purposes.

Salary/Benefits:  This is a part-time position and does not include insurance benefits; work hours will not exceed 29 per week.  Salary is commensurate with education and work experience.  Work schedule may include day, evening, and/or online courses, as assigned.  Hand and finger motion may be required for data entry purposes.
