POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION: Avionics Instructor

QUICK LOOK:
Under supervision of the Aviation Program Director, this position is responsible for all aspects of instruction in the Avionics Bench Technician program.
- Complies with FAA regulation in all aspects of Aviation programs and continuance activities.
- Develops and implements instructional delivery that is stimulating, thought provoking and engaging to students in face-to-face, online and lab settings.
- Oversees safety compliance including safe lab practices per EPA regulations and OSHA standards.
- With the Aviation Program Director, manages the program budget and other fiscal resources.
- Instructors will work with the Aviation Program Director, the Dean and other faculty members and academic leadership to meet department, division and college goals.
- Program director will advise students and promote recruitment and retention efforts for the Avionics Program.
- This position is a Full-time, 12-month faculty position located on our NEW Aviation Academy Campus in Paulding County.
- Position will be temporarily located on a CTC campus until the facility is complete.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Aircraft Electronics/Avionics Certificate OR Five + years working in Avionics/ Aircraft Electronics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate Degree in Avionics or Aircraft Electronics
- FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
- FCC license
- Appropriate Industry Certifications
- Working knowledge and experience with teaching in Avionics
- Working knowledge and proven experience in program assessments
SALARY/BENEFITS: Annual Salary - $64,680 or $69,680 w/A&P certification. Benefits include paid holidays, annual leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program which includes health insurance and retirement plans. Please be aware that Chattahoochee Tech employees will be paid by direct deposit, unless exempted by the State Accounting Office based on “hardship” evidence provided by the employee. Employment is with Chattahoochee Technical College, not with a specific campus.
