Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Child Care Services (CCS) Intake Consultant will review, monitor, and ensure compliance with the CCS policies and procedures regarding intake of health and safety allegations of child care programs.
Job Responsibilities: Management may add to, delete, or alter specific responsibilities of any position if such responsibilities are a reasonable assignment to the position.
· Receive questions and concerns from providers, families, partner state agencies and other members of the public via phone, email, fax, and in person.
· Seeks out additional information from reporters, providers and co-workers to ensure that intakes are complete.
· Ensures that all reports of potential rule violations are properly vetted according to established policies and procedures.
· Answer questions, provide information and enter complaint intakes to be investigated by the Department as appropriate based on the circumstances of each situation.
• Provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers.
• Obtains additional information from reporters, providers and co-workers to ensure that intakes are complete.
- Research programs operating within the State should be either licensed or exempt and refer to the appropriate unit for investigation and follow through.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of state rules and regulations.
- Communicates with customers and obtains all required information necessary to determine their specific needs and determine if there is a potential rule violation.

Physical Requirements:
· Work is performed in an office setting with extended periods of sitting and occasional shorter periods of walking and/or standing (up to 10-15 minutes);
· The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight up to 25 pounds.
· Requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
· Requires the ability to speak clearly.
· Requires the ability to hear and understand at a normal conversational level.
· Requires close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading and visual inspection.
· Requires the ability to review, classify, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data. Includes exercising discretion in determining data classification.
· Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental, or subjective criteria, as opposed to that which is clearly measurable or verifiable.
Minimum Qualifications (HRA): High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of job-related experience. Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and/or related field from an accredited college/university AND Two years of professional experience in Early Childhood Education and/or
related early childhood field OR Master’s in Early Childhood Education and/or related field from an accredited college/university.
