Job Description:

Job Title: Clinical Investigations Manager- Atlanta  

Workplace: 200 Piedmont Ave, SE. Atlanta, Ga. 30034

Remote

Travel: 10% statewide

  

Job Summary:

  • Guide the day-to-day activities of investigations teams to meet established performance metrics.
  • Supervise and direct investigators and team leads giving instructions and guidance through case supervision and developing necessary resources and tools if gaps are identified.
  • Observe, review, and analyze processes to identify inefficiencies and areas where improvements could be made.
  • Review written reports of findings to ensure that they accurately, clearly and thoroughly draw conclusions based upon evidence, testimony, policy, rules, regulations, etc.
  • Resolve problems encountered in the investigation process, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Build team collaboration in a remote environment.
  • Review individual team members 'and overall team activities for process accuracy and productivity.
  • Train new staff to include one-on-one sessions and shadowing.
  • Collaborate within the Office of Investigations management team to set office goals.
  • Participate in project development and management initiatives, internal operating procedures, and business processes.
  • Provide investigative support as directed to other external investigative and regulatory/enforcement agencies.
  • Conduct investigations as required.
  • Assist with case management as needed.
  • Delegate to team leads as needed
  • Participate in and lead management/supervisory/team meetings and attend trainings.
  • Coordinate investigations with other agencies as needed.
  • Maintain a level of understanding and familiarity with the applicable rules and regulations, policies, provider manuals, etc. sufficient to perform the assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Provides technical support to the provider regarding deficiencies identified in an investigation.
  • Coordinate and participate in onsite, unannounced visits to provider locations for the purposes of conducting investigations or determining provider compliance.
  • Obtain and maintain certification in conducting investigations of serious incidents.
  • Participate in the Community Mortality Review Committee meetings as required.
  • Professional licensure is required (RN or Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician)

General responsibilities for all staff:

  • Accurate, thorough, and timely entry of data into multiple databases.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships and communicate effectively with providers and other stakeholders, including other DBHDD offices and divisions.
  • Project a professional image through in-person, phone, and electronic communications.
  • Plan and prioritize workload to meet day to day needs.
  • Read, screen, and respond to correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with providers and other stakeholders, including other DBHDD offices and divisions.
  • Identify and prioritize critical issues within identified parameters.
  • Use sound judgment to respond appropriately to internal and external contacts.
  • Independently monitor deadlines to ensure timeliness and the meeting of established individual performance metrics.
  • Execute high quality customer service by anticipating customer needs, providing services accurately, in a respectful and timely manner, and establishing and maintaining effective contact and follow through with customers.
  • Collaborate and work effectively as a team member.
  • Assist with projects as needed.
  • Participates in team meetings and attend trainings.
  • Overnight travel statewide as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED and five (5) years of job-related experience which includes two (2) years in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role related to the area of assignment; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Complnc Specialist 3 (RCP062) or position equivalent.--Note: Some positions may require a certification or licensure.--Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
