Start your career in public service. The Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS), Office of Family Independence (OFI), is seeking professional individual to complete highly focused Medicaid case record reviews to determine timeliness, accuracy and trends.
The location of the position will be determined by the RSM Unit Manager with consideration being given to the incumbent’s place of residence.
Job Description (General Summary):
Role and Responsibilities:
- Determine timeliness and accuracy of the agency’s issuance of benefits in accordance with state and federal laws and policies.
- Reviews case actions from assigned case record review list.
- Reviews all points of eligibility and completes case corrections on errors identified.
- Analyzes results and identify trend patterns.
- Completes a monthly report on findings, compiles and submits findings to the Unit Manager.
- Attend staff meetings with the Unit Manager and appropriate staff that were involved in the cases identified with error.
- Completes all special assignments given by the deadline assigned.
- Maintains knowledge of current policies, laws and trends.
- Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
- Coordinates work assignments and completion of special projects.
- Cultivates solutions for complex case or policy related questions from a variety of sources.
- Attends required training.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED AND Three (3) years of experience in a technical job related to the area of assignment. A valid driver's license may be required.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience.
- Three (3) years of program specific knowledge in Medicaid as an Economic Support Specialist or one (1) year of work experience as an Economic Support Specialist Supervisor or Error Control Specialist/Case Record Reader.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to apply technical knowledge to policies/procedures.
- Self-driven and highly motivated to independently complete tasks as well as work as part of a team.
- Strong working knowledge of Medicaid policy and procedures.
