The Georgia Department of Labor is accepting applications to fill the Cybersecurity Specialist 2 position in the IT CIO Office.
The position is located at 148 Andrew Young International Blvd. NE, Atlanta, Georgia, 30303.

The Cyber Security 2, under general supervision, aligns all information security compliancy activities to ensure the agency is compliant with all federal and state security requirements.
Essential Function and Responsibilities
1. Serves as lead member for all reporting to federal partners
- Creates, updates, and submits all required annual reports to the IRS and SSA prior to or on time.
- Updates and submits all Corrective Action Plans (CAP) to the IRS and SSA on a quarterly or semi-annual basis prior to or on time.
2. Ensures all policies and procedures align with IRS, SSA, and current NIST 800-53 revisions
- Creates, reviews, and updates all information security policies and procedures on an annual basis.
3. Performs, reviews, and guides various IT teams on technical vulnerability and compliancy assessments
- Configures, tests, reports, and provides guidance to correct deficiencies with IT system assessments.
- Escalates issues with the Information Security Officer.
4. Works with various levels of agency personnel to ensure that business needs and information security objectives are met
- Completes work requests/service tickets
- Responds to email requests dealing with information security systems.
- Works with section managers and the CISO to determine appropriate security controls for business systems.
- Communicates with all levels of management and other supporting or supported agency business owners on cyber risks existing within the agency.
- Provides status reporting to the CISO on information security projects and cybersecurity maturity.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Security or related field or Equivalent experience and three (3) years of proven experience and demonstrated success in technology security
- 3+ years – Experience with federal/state reporting requirements – Candidate will be requested to provide sanitized copies of reports
- Strong knowledge of IRS and SSA information security requirements
- 3+ years – Demonstrated experience working with various IT systems
- Proficient plus with MS Word and MS Excel
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications:
- SSCP Certification
- CISSP Certification
- Security+ Certification
- GIAC Certification
- Demonstrated experience with various vulnerability and compliancy scanners

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Information Security or related field or equivalent experience and three (3) years of proven experience and demonstrated success in technology leadership with emphasis on information security and data governance and currently holds an intermediate cyber certification per state guidelines or achieves within 12 months of start date: (CCNA, CCNA-S, C)ISRM, CISM, CASP, GCIH, GCED, CEH) and Must hold or be able to qualify for a US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) clearance.Equal Employment Opportunity Employer
