Job Summary
The Director of Child Health will be responsible for statewide leadership and coordination of DPH’s Child Health Programs including Health Check, Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV), Early Hearing Detection and Intervention, Newborn Screening, Autism Access and Innovation, Babies Can’t Wait, Children’s Medical Services, and Children 1st.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads the Child Health Programs for the Department including Health Check, Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV), Early Hearing Detection and Intervention, Newborn Screening, Autism Access and Innovation, Babies Can’t Wait, Children’s Medical Services, and Children 1st.
- Provides expert guidance, technical assistance, training, and mentorship to Child Health staff.
- Responsible for efficient management of state and federal funding allocations, grants, and contracts.
- Responsible for assuring compliance with state and federal requirements and guidelines through ongoing evaluation, oversight, and reporting.
- Provides ongoing coordination and monitoring to assure program timelines, reports, contract requirements are completed as required.
- Establishes standards and protocols for child health clinical services.
- Provides leadership for grant applications and needs assessments as required.
- Responsible for effective collaboration between Child Health programs and other DPH Programs, public health districts, agencies, and partners.
- Responsible for supervision of staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in public health or other related field
- Experience in child health
- Experience in public health
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in operations management, business administration, or a related field which includes seven (7) years in a managerial or supervisory role; or ten (10) years of related professional experience which includes seven (7) years in a managerial or supervisory role; or seven (7) years of experience required at the lower , Business Ops (GSM014) or position equivalent.--Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.-.Equal Employment Opportunity Employer
