POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION: Disability Services Assistant (Paulding Campus)

POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for performing administrative and clerical duties in support of student affairs functions for Disability Support Services.
MAJOR DUTIES:
DISABILITY SERVICES
- Proctors examinations as needed.
- Manage the general DSS email. Including, but not limited to, sending mass emails to students, corresponding with students, and/or responding to prospective students about the enrollment for DSS
- Daily tasks include, but are not limited to: sending accommodation letters to faculty, processing testing requests, communicating with DSS students about accommodations, scheduling exams and appointments, etc.
- Available on multiple campus locations to gather and review basic information in regards to Disability Support Services, assist the student with completion of intake paperwork, and set appointments for the specialist(s) or director when necessary.
- Supports endeavors in student support activities to include orientation for students enrolled in disability services, workshops, guest speaker presentations, welcome back activities, disability awareness events, resource fairs, and special events.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
- Prepares correspondence, reports, spreadsheets and other documents.
- Enters student information to computerized disability database and BANNER.
- Performs related duties.
INTERPERSONAL ROLE
- Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance; makes appointments; refers to appropriate personnel.
- Aids with the registration process.
- Contributes to the planning and execution of student affairs events and activities during the term, including specifically an orientation for students using disability support services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
SALARY/BENEFITS: $36,982.40 annually. Benefits include paid holidays, annual leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program. Please be aware that Chattahoochee Tech employees will be paid by direct deposit, unless exempted by the State Accounting Office based on “hardship” evidence provided by the employee.
TELEWORK: This position may be permitted to telework up to three days of a forty-hour work week.
