Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Early Education Center Teacher position in the Childcare Center. This position is located on Atlanta Tech's Main Campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Plan and implement the Creative Curriculum in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the Department of Early Care and Learning.

· Observe and record the developmental progress of children in all domains using the Teaching Strategies Gold Child Assessment and utilizing the Individual Family Service Plan.

· Prepare daily learning activities and materials for infant and toddlers for small and large group experiences.

· Encourage the children in experimentation, exploration, problem solving, cooperation, socialization, and choice making.

· Provide written and verbal communication to parents on a daily basis.

· Plan and conduct home and/or personal visits; work with and encourage parents, and the community to volunteer.

· Collaborate with the Hub Specialists in meeting the needs of all children, including those with special needs.

· Meet the health and safety guidelines based on the Infant/Toddler Environmental Rating Scale.

· Plan for the nutritional needs of the children including support for the mothers who are nursing.

· Attend meetings, training, and appropriate professional development activities as assigned; assist in planning and conducting parent conferences.

· Develop and execute daily lesson plans and age-appropriate educational activities.

· Monitor children during class, outdoor play and mealtimes to ensure a secure environment

· Help maintain classroom rules, routines and positive guidance techniques

· Organize materials, prep learning centers and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.

· Assist in maintaining a welcoming environment and facilitate communication with parents, across several platforms.

· Follow state guidelines set by the Georgia Department of Early Care and learning (DECAL); and

· Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess and demonstrate a High School diploma or equivalent. Must also possess Infant Toddler CDA (Child Development Associate) certification. Mandatory minimum credentials set by the state of Georgia include a CDS, TCC. Paraprofessional Certificate or higher degree.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (DECAL STANDARDS)

Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate any of the following:

· Valid Paraprofessional Certificate

· Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential

· Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) or Technical College Diploma (TCD) in early Childhood Education

· Associate or Bachelor's Degree

· Montessori Diploma or Georgia Certified Teacher Status
