The DHS’ Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS), Child Welfare, is seeking candidates for the position of Economic Support Consultant Supervisor in the Revenue Maximization Specialist (Rev Max) unit. This position covers DFCS Regions 9 and12 in Georgia. Position is housed at Liberty Co DFCS.
Responsible for supervision, training, monitoring a Rev Max team of 1 Program Assistant and 5 Rev Max Specialists covering DFCS Regions 9 and 12.. Required to monitor work accuracy, IV-E funding determination accuracy, timeliness of work completion, processing accuracy in SHINES and Gateway systems; assist in the review of IV-E records for state and federal audit preparation; provide training and over-the-shoulder support to staff on Medicaid and title IV-E eligibility; complete minimum case action reviews; reporting; personnel actions and monthly conferencing.

Job Description: Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff. Interviews and investigates applicants and recipients to determine eligibility for use of social programs and agency resources. Records and evaluates personal and financial data obtained from individuals. Initiates procedures to grant, modify, deny, or terminate eligibility for various aid programs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manages a Rev Max unit to ensure timely and accurate benefits in Medicaid and title IV-E eligibility and documentation.
Tracks team progress through system reports, worker card reviews meeting a unit accuracy rating of 98% and a Standard of Promptness rating of 96%.
Provides appropriate feedback concerning group and individual performance.
Clearly establishes and communicates expectations and accountabilities.
Provides effective feedback, coaching and mentoring.
Establishes and maintains a working relationship with county OFI, Social Services staff and SAAGs in coverage area.
Associate degree from an accredited college or university AND four (4) year of job-related experience including one (1) year as lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role.
One (1) year of experience at the lower level Economic Support Cons 3 (SSP052) or equivalent position.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an approved accredited college or university AND two (2) years experience providing eligibility determinations for a government or a human/social services program.
Associate degree from an accredited college or university AND four (4) years of related experience, one year of which in a supervisory or team lead role.
Supervisory experience in Child Welfare, Foster Care, Adoptions, other social service programs is preferred.
Knowledge of title IV-E program highly desirable
