Job Description:

The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their full-time Employment Services Supervisor position within the Office of Workforce Development in the following location: Gwinnett.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Employment Services (ES) Supervisor functions as both a working lead and supervisor, actively participating in day-to-day operations while overseeing the workflow and service delivery in the local office for ES staff.  This role combines hands-on work with responsibility for but not limited to: training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring and maintaining schedules and priorities; and assisting Regional Operations Manager (ROM) with performance evaluations. The ES Supervisor will also assist ES staff with policy, program, and processing questions.

Additional duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of ES staff within their assigned location(s).

  • Conducts interviews with job, program, or unemployment applicants to obtain information needed to provide services.

  • Demonstrates the use of job listings to assist clients with skill building

  • Develops, conducts, and/or coordinates workshops and presentations to applicants on job readiness or the most current job search techniques.

  • Performs job counseling with applicants to identify their abilities, needs, interests, and values in relation to job and career opportunities.

  • Provides career development and assessment services to clients for the purpose of matching their application skill sets to vacancies.

  • Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with local employers to develop opportunities for clients.

  • Assists in the collection and analysis of data related to performance indicators and resources, providing support to the ROM in ensuring a high customer service level to all ES participants.

  • Conducts research, assesses, coordinates, and develops awareness of existing services and ensures that duplication is avoided.

  • Identifies, plans, and implements the development and utilization of local resources.

  • Provides technical assistance/training to internal and external service providers regarding policy interpretation and/or evaluating quality and management.

  • May perform assigned duties, to include planning, organizing, or directing activities between multiple assigned locations, to include minimal travel and outstation work within local workforce development area, as required.

  • Responsibilities of this role require work to be physically performed within an assigned career center location during core business hours and is not eligible for telework.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university AND two years of related experience OR associate’s degree from an accredited college or university AND four years of related experience OR two years of experience at the lower-level Employment Services Specialist or position equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Knowledge of the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) and related Wagner-Peyser (WP) Act.

  • Experience with delivery of Employment Services.

  • Experience delivering presentations in groups.

  • Bilingual/Spanish speaking.

  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations.
