Job Description:

The EPD Wastewater Regulatory Program has an immediate opening for an

environmental specialist position within the Municipal Permitting Unit:

The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing permit applications and supporting documents and preparing federal National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and state Land Application System (LAS) permits for public and private domestic wastewater treatment facilities.

The successful candidate must have ability to effectively interact with the regulated community (i.e. local governments), consulting engineers and/or the general public on a daily basis. The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical and regulatory requirements,

request/obtain additional information, and explain complex issues to customers

with a wide range of backgrounds. The successful candidate must have ability to

effectively manage multiple ongoing projects independently and adapt to changing priorities.

The position is located in Atlanta, GA

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics, geology, engineering, or other closely related field from an accredited college or university.
