Job Description:

Under general supervision, evaluates programs for compliance with environmental laws, rules, and regulations. Recommends monitoring and enforcement/corrective actions. May serve as lead worker. This is the associate position within WPMP that assesses the regulatory status of surface waters by comparing water quality data to water quality standards, updates the GOMAS assessment data system, and prepares and submits the biennial 305(b)/303(d) Integrated List of Waters, 305(b) Water Quality Report, and other supporting documents to USEPA. This is a critical and required function under the Clean Water Act and EPA's Assessment and Listing workplan outlined in the 106 Grant PPA. The position is also responsible for the review of Sampling Quality Assurance Plans developed by stakeholders interested in submitting data for consideration in the 305(b)/303(d) assessment process. Finally, the position serves as co-administrator of the GOMAS water quality database and provides technical support and review of major changes and system enhancements

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics, geology, engineering, or another closely related field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of professional job-related experience in environmental protection; or One (1) year of experience at the lower level Environmental Complnc Spec 2 (RCP021) or equivalent position.
