Duties & Responsibilities:
As part of the GaARNG Construction & Facilities Management Office Environmental Team, provides technical support to the North Georgia facilities of the GaARNG to ensure compliance with GaARNG, DOD, local, state, and federal environmental rules and regulations. Develops site visit/assessment schedules for facilities. Identifies environmental problem areas via periodic site visits/assessments and the necessary corrective actions to resolve problems identified.
- Maintains environmental records and files on facilities in regional area of responsibility.
- This position will also share responsibility for the Hazardous Waste program for CFMO ENV, processing all waste turn-ins for GA ARNG facilities and ensuring the GA ARNG properly handles and manages waste until its disposal in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Occasional travel to other regions of the state will be required using vehicles provided by the agency, as well as travel under the auspices of the agency to other states for training and conferences.
Minimum Training & Experience:
Completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university which included at least 40 quarter hours, 27 semester hours of laboratory sciences AND One year of environmental compliance experience OR One year of
experience in a position equivalent to the lower level (RCP020)
Agency Specific Qualifications and/or Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
1. Bachelor's degree in environmental science or similar area of study.
2. Professional certification in the field of environmental science.

Qualifications - External
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics, geology or other natural or physical science or engineering field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of professional experience in environmental protection OR One year of experience at the lower level Environmental Compliance Spec 1 (RCP020) or position equivalent.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics, geology, engineering, or another closely related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional job-related experience in environmental protection; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Environmental Complnc Spec 1 (RCP020) or position equivalent.Equal Employment Opportunity Employer
