Job Description:

For more than 50 years, Pathways Center has been a trusted provider of comprehensive behavioral healthcare across West-Central Georgia. We provide mental health, substance use disorder, developmental disability, crisis, and community-based services to thousands of individuals each year through a diverse continuum of outpatient, crisis, residential, and community programs.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is a member of the Administrative Support team and provides organization-wide facilities support. The position is responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and general upkeep of multiple Pathways Center-owned and leased facilities throughout west-central Georgia. Work is assigned and tracked primarily through Pathways Center's SolarWinds helpdesk ticket submission software. The position also provides vehicle maintenance support as needed and reports to the Facilities Maintenance Manager.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Travels to Pathways Center facilities throughout west-central Georgia to perform routine, preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance and repair work.
  • Receives, reviews, prioritizes, updates, and closes facilities service requests submitted through the SolarWinds helpdesk ticket system; documents work performed, materials used, status, and resolution in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicates with requestors, program leadership, the Facilities Maintenance Manager, and other stakeholders regarding ticket status, expected completion time, access needs, and any operational or safety concerns.
  • Provides general maintenance and repair support to minimize operational disruption and maintain safe, functional, and professional treatment and work environments.
  • Performs general building and equipment maintenance, including skilled painting; drywall and minor carpentry; doors, locks, and hardware; ceiling tiles; basic roofing tasks; plumbing fixtures; lighting and electrical fixture replacement within authorized limits; air vents; and routine HVAC-related checks and minor repairs.
  • Identifies conditions requiring a licensed or specialized contractor and promptly reports findings to the Facilities Maintenance Manager; assists with coordinating site access and monitoring contracted work as directed.
  • Assists with facility renovations, construction installations, office moves, furniture assembly, equipment placement, and other facility improvement projects.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots security, access control, climate control, and other building systems within the scope of the position; promptly escalates system failures or safety risks.
  • Performs scheduled facility safety inspections and documents deficiencies, corrective actions, and follow-up needs.
  • Completes preventive maintenance activities according to established schedules, manufacturer guidance, and departmental procedures.
  • Operates trade-related hand and power tools, ladders, and equipment safely; maintains tools in good working condition and keeps an accurate inventory of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.
  • Obtains needed materials and supplies in accordance with purchasing procedures and provides receipts, records, and other documentation as required.
  • Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition and removes maintenance-related debris upon completion of work.
  • Wears required personal protective equipment and follows applicable safety practices, infection-control precautions, facility rules, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides basic maintenance support for Pathways Center vehicles as assigned, including inspections, minor repairs, and coordination of outside service.
  • Responds professionally and courteously when working in clinical, residential, administrative, and community-based settings and protects confidential information encountered while performing duties.
  • Participates in after-hours, urgent, or emergency facilities response when assigned or operationally necessary.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the Facilities Maintenance Manager or other authorized leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and four to six years of progressively responsible experience in facilities maintenance, building repair, construction, or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of general building maintenance practices and the safe use of common hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to use a computer, smartphone, email, and web-based helpdesk or work-order software; ability to learn and consistently use SolarWinds for ticket documentation and workflow management.
  • Ability to independently organize and prioritize multiple service requests, travel between facilities, communicate clearly, and complete accurate work records.
  • Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching, working in confined or elevated areas, and lifting or moving maintenance materials and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical, trade, or college-level education in facilities maintenance, construction, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related field.
  • Eight or more years of experience in construction, facility maintenance, or multi-site building operations.
  • Prior experience using SolarWinds or another computerized maintenance management/helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Relevant trade certifications or licenses and experience supporting healthcare, behavioral healthcare, residential, or other regulated facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Three (3) years of job-related experience; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Facility Maintenance Wkr 2 (FES051) or position equivalent.--Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
