Job Description:

Under broad supervision, the Forensic Auditor examines financial evidence of an alleged crime. The Auditor is responsible for leading and conducting investigations of fraud and financial abuse and prepares spreadsheets and charts for presentations and courtroom testimony. This position supports the Criminal Investigations Division.

Performs advanced forensic analysis involving financial processes and systems related to criminal investigations.

Assists with criminal investigations by reviewing complex records of persons suspected in insurance fraud, white collar crimes, and money laundering.

Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates financial data and responds to inquiries.

Analyzes suspicious journal entries, supporting documentation; evaluates financial records.

Conducts forensic audits to detect impropriety in accounting for revenues, expenses, and accruals.

Investigates suspect financial processes and systems.

Conducts analysis of third-party audits, including accumulation of data, financial analysis, and reporting.

Works with law enforcement and attorneys in the investigation and prosecution of criminal matters.

Provides interpretation on technical questions of accounting procedures along with applicable state and federal statutes and regulations.

Participates, in a team approach, with Division agents/investigators, in the preparation and planning of investigations.

Develops financial investigations plans and uses financial investigative software to conduct forensic audits.

Assesses compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.

Prepares audit reports, audit work papers, and memorandums detailing findings.

Testifies at hearings, Grand Jury, and trials.

Maintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job function.

Attends training sessions as required to gain skills and knowledge.

Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information.

Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity.

Attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule.

Maintains quality service by adhering to organizational standards.

Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Financial Forensic Auditor 2 (FIP121) or position equivalent.
