Job Description:

Under the direction of the Custodial Supervisor, the Floor Technician will perform a variety of floor care assignments throughout campus.  He/she will be responsible for following established cleaning and maintenance schedules.  The Floor Technician must be able to operate various types of floor care equipment.  He/she will shampoo carpets, provide proper maintenance to floor care machines, scrub, mop, strip, wax, seal tile flooring, and buff hallways.   He/she will move furniture and equipment to prepare areas for floor care, sweep and mop classrooms as assigned.  He/she must possess a Ga. State driver’s license in order to operate state vehicles to include maintenance truck, golf cart, and forklift.  This is a full-time position that requires a dependable person who works well independently and with others.   

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent *AND* have a minimum of two (2) years of commercial floor care experience. Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Physical Demands: Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for (8) eight hours or more continuous at a time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee frequently lifts/carries objects that weigh 10lbs. to 50lbs.

Salary/Benefits: Salary range is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
