Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Administrative Assistant I position in the Continuing Education division. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta.    

Under the general supervision of the Director of Continuing Education division, the Full-time Administrative Assistant I provides secretarial and clerical support to the unit and serves as a liaison between the program/administrative/technical operation and clients.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Provides secretarial and clerical support to the unit.  
  • Serves as liaison between the program/administrative/technical operation and clients; determines the nature of client’s business and provides appropriate information and assistance.  Refers to appropriate personnel when necessary.
  • Proofreads and edits documents for content, context, accuracy and consistency.
  • Copies, distributes and files appropriate letters, memoranda, reports and other materials.
  • Prepares paperwork, sign-in sheets, copies and classroom materials for instructors.
  • Maintains classroom supplies and distributes books.
  • Utilizes a variety of software to produce documents, spreadsheets, visual aids and promotional materials.
  • Manages attendance reports and records.
  • Manages databases and reports for instructional enhancements.
  • Maintains filing and record-keeping systems.
  • Conducts research using a variety of resources to generate reports, solve departmental issues, and find new technology solutions.
  • Maintains office supply inventory; and
  • Performs additional duties, as assigned.

  • Knowledge of expenditure trends, program purposes and results
  • Knowledge of Audiovisual Equipment   

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess and demonstrate a High School Diploma or equivalent AND Six (6) months of related work experience. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Associate’s degree in business administration AND Three (3) years of work-related experience; OR
  • Five (5) years of work-related experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree AND one (1) year of work-related experience.
  • Experience using BANNER student information system.
