Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Career Success Coach position in the Student Engagement Division.  This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta.    


 

Under the general supervision of the Vice President of Student Engagement, the Full-Time Career Success Coach counsels and advises students in choosing a career path and securing employment upon graduation. The Full-Time Career Success Coach is highly collaborative, working with internal cross-functional ATC teams and external industry and community partners. This position provides an array of intentional, direct student development opportunities to compliment students’ academic journey in areas including but not limited to career planning, resume building, interviewing and negotiation skills and professional etiquette.


 

Duties and responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:


  • Administer career assessments and interpret results to help students identify their strengths, interest and career goals while ensuring alignment with appropriate ATC programs and career pathways.

  • Teach at least one section of the EMPL 1000 Employability Skills Course.

  • Develop career-related training modules for deployment through an array of mediums such as Blackboard, student learning communities, virtual Webex/ Teams meetings, face-to-face workshops, etc.

  • Implement and maintain intentional student engagement initiatives that support students throughout their academic and career journey.

  • Document student engagements and career coaching notes accurately and consistently to ensure continuity of services and effective follow-up.

  • Document career preparedness checklists for each student served, tracking progress and supporting successful achievement of post-graduation career goals.

  • Provide cover letter and resume formatting guidance, mock interviewing sessions, and feedback, professional etiquette coaching and networking advice.

  • Maintain current knowledge of local market trends, including regional employers and industries aligned with ATC programs, as well as the skills, education, and experience required or preferred for high-demand and growth occupations.

  • Maintain current knowledge of employment pathways within regional companies, industries, and occupations, including key employers, hiring practices, application processes, and requirements for securing employment.

  • Maintain current knowledge of transferable skills across industries and occupations to effectively advise students and alumni on career pathways and employment opportunities; and

  • Performs additional duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Must possess and demonstrate a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related field AND two (2) years of work-related experience.



 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate a Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university AND three (3) or more years of work-related experience providing career coaching or counseling and/or as a Human Resources recruiter, Benefits Coordinator or other Human Resources profession in a post-secondary environment.
