Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for the Full- Time Institutional Advancement Director position, in the Division of Institutional Advancement.  This position is located at ATC’s Main Campus, which is just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Under general supervision of the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, the Full- Time Institutional Advancement Director position is responsible for administration, development and implementation of initiatives regarding the Alumni Association, scholarship programs as well as assisting in the development of internal and external advancement programs. This team member will work closely with the Vice President to identify technical college resource development needs by conducting assessments, research and obtaining recommendations from staff, administrative personnel, and external resources development professional.

Job duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Creating development priorities regarding the alumni association, including creating communication and events to engage members and drive enrollment.
  • Monitoring all scholarship programs, including the generation of donor reports and stewardship of those scholarship donors, to ensure a thriving and sustainable scholarship program at ATC.
  • Maintain a working relationship with the Board of Trustees and managing the Resources and Development Committee.
  • Coordinating with the Vice President on the development of the Foundation budget, assisting with the oversight of the donor database developing and/ or assisting with the development o advancement policies and procedures.
  • Recommending changes to effectively meet the goals and requirements of the advancement office.
  • Maintaining knowledge of assigned advancement programs and giving updates on programs / initiatives to senior leadership and Board of Trustees.
  • Creating reports, printed materials, brochures and other documents to deliver to diverse audiences that support programs and initiatives of the advancement office.
  • Assisting in the creation of the foundation’s annual report and assisting in the development and execution of all donor acknowledgement, appreciation and recognition initiatives.
  • Developing and submitting grant proposals for private funding, as needed.
  • Attend meetings as required. 
  • Observe and enforce the institution’s policies and procedures. 
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of basic fundraising principles.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing or closely related field from an accredited college or university AND three (3) years full-time work experience in supervising accounting functions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess and demonstrate the following:

  •   Master’s degree or higher in public relations, marketing, or closely related field from an accredited college or university. 
  •   Five or more years of full-time work experience in donor relations, donor management and event management.
  •   Experience working at a post-secondary institution.
