Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Instructor / Clinical Coordinator (Radiologic Technology) position in the Academic and Student Affairs Division, Health and Public Safety department.  This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta.    

 

Under general supervision of the Dean of Health and Public Safety Technologies, the Full-Time Instructor / Clinical Coordinator (Radiologic Technology) will be responsible for assisting students in their learning process by utilizing all appropriate College resources, materials, facilities and educational technologies available to complement the teaching and learning process.  Duties include curriculum design and development; instruction, recruitment, and advisement of students Correlation of clinical education with didactic education using approved curriculum format. 

 

 

Duties and responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:


  • Use of a variety of teaching techniques appropriate for the discipline and to student learning styles.
  • Use of appropriate assessment, testing, grading, student feedback, and record-keeping procedures.
  • Plan, develop, and instruct program related material to students on various platforms.
  • Hands on instruction in on-campus lab to reinforce material and objectives from lecture.
  • Travel to various affiliated clinical sites to visit program students while in clinicals and complete various program requirements such as competency verifications.
  • Review health records for compliance.
  • Evaluation of students in the academic/ clinical/field setting and periodic review and revision of clinical/didactic course materials and manuals.
  • Courses will be a combination of face to face, online or hybrid as necessary.
  • Participate in college committees and professional enhancement.
  • Requests and maintains supplies and equipment.
  • Prepares and execute the standards of programming for an accredited Radiologic Technology program to include performing all aspects of instruction for radiologic technology courses.
  • Maintain all required documentation and administrative reports.
  • Meet with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues.
  • Provide instruction in theory and practical applications of the discipline in accordance with academic state standards
  • Instruct courses in a classroom/lab/clinic/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry.
  • Utilize current technology in the classroom / lab / clinic.
  • Evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • Grades all coursework in a timely manner.
  • Provide student support and advice; and use of college learning management system.
  • Maintain office hours weekly. 
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area.
  • Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues.
  • Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate for the teaching discipline.
  • Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports.
  • Attend professional development training, workshops, seminars and conferences.
  • Develop program curriculum, syllabi, goals and objectives; and prepare lesson plans for instruction.
  • Support Program Chair/Program Director, Division Deans/Associate Deans.
  • Maintain students clinical schedule, contacts clinical sites as needed, completes affiliation agreements.
  • Evaluate student progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • Assist in academic support services, including advisement and tutoring, and attending graduation events.
  • Correlate clinical education with didactic education as assigned by the program director.
  • Facilitate and/or provides appropriate and adequate clinical instruction for the students.
  • Coordinate clinical education and evaluate its effectiveness through a schedule of regular visits to the clinical education sites.
  • Facilitate and /or provide clinical competency evaluation for each student assigned to the clinical site; and
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 


Must possess and demonstrate the following:


  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with at least a Bachelor’s degree in education or health related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Current ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered Radiographer with at least one (1) year experience in diagnostic radiography.

 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:


  • Three (3) or more years of experience in diagnostic radiography.
  • Two (2) or more years of instructional experience; work with clinical competency system per AART and program requirements.
  • Knowledge of JRCERT accreditation process.
  • Registered for MRI and Mammography.
