Job Description:

Job Summary
The FWS-Hall Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe, orderly, and respectful environment within designated areas of South Georgia Technical College, primarily focusing on student conduct and adherence to campus policies.

Job Responsibilities
* Monitor hallways, common areas, and other assigned campus locations to ensure student safety and appropriate behavior.
* Enforce college rules and regulations, including those related to noise levels, loitering, and general student conduct.
* Report any unusual incidents, disturbances, or safety concerns to appropriate supervisory staff promptly.
* Provide basic information and direction to students and visitors as needed.
* Assist in emergencies by following established college protocols and directing individuals to safety.
* Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter unauthorized activities.
* Collaborate with other college staff to address student conduct issues and promote a positive campus atmosphere.
* May assist with light administrative tasks or event support as assigned.

Job Qualifications
* Must be a currently enrolled student at South Georgia Technical College.
* Must be eligible for the Federal Work-Study (FWS) program.
* Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
* Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to remain calm and decisive in potentially stressful situations.
* Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
* Basic understanding of college policies and procedures (training provided).
* Prior experience in a monitoring or customer service role is a plus, but not required.

Work Schedule

* Must be available to work three evenings per week from 6 pm to 12 am, including weekends.

* Applicants must be willing and able to commit to this evening and weekend schedule throughout their employment.
