Position Location
This position is located at the East Central Regional Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. The role is assigned to work with inpatient individuals on the Augusta Campus located at 3405 Mike Padgett Highway, Augusta, Ga. 30906.
Services and Responsibilities
In this role, you will work in collaboration and support of our doctors and nurses in an acute inpatient setting, serving adults with severe mental illness, trauma histories, impulse control issues, and interpersonal challenges. If you enjoy helping, caring, and interacting with people in a thriving, person-centered, medical, and mental health environment, you are a strong candidate for this role. As a Health Aide, you will provide basic patient care and work with patients/clients to develop daily living skills. Observes and documents patient data, behavior, and activity and documents accordingly in the Electronic Medical Record. Assists medical staff by taking vital signs and prepares clients for treatments or examinations. May assist with bathing or activities of daily living.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Observes and maintains an awareness of individuals’ behavior and physical whereabouts to ensure their security and safety.
Transports/accompanies individuals to appointments and activities in various locations and off campus visits.
Provides clients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed
Conducts activities for recreation and socialization
Participates in interdisciplinary treatment team
Participates in crisis de-escalation
May assist with bathing or activities of daily living.
Preferred Qualifications Include:
One year experience and/or education providing direct care services to mental health and/or substance abuse and/or developmentally delayed individuals in a hospital, nursing home, or group home setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
