The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is looking for team members to support our patients. In this role, you will work in a hospital setting alongside doctors, nurses, and care staff. You will care for adults who live with severe mental illness, past trauma, and trouble controlling impulses.
A clean, safe environment is a key part of healthcare. By keeping our hospital clean, sanitized, and organized, you directly help our patients stay safe, learn daily skills, and feel supported on their path to recovery.
Job Summary
Under direct supervision, the Housekeeper 1 performs everyday cleaning tasks to keep the facility safe, neat, and sanitary. You will sweep, mop, disinfect patient areas, stock essential supplies, and make sure our hospital meets high cleanliness standards every day.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Sanitation
Clean and disinfect patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors using basic cleaning tools and machines.
Empty trash cans and handle waste disposal according to hospital safety rules.
Supplies & Inventory
Keep track of cleaning supplies, soaps, paper products, and linens.
Restock supplies in patient units and staff restrooms as needed.
Report low stock or broken equipment to your supervisor promptly.
Hospital Safety
Follow strict infection control guidelines to stop the spread of germs.
Keep all cleaning supplies, chemicals, and tools safely stored and locked away from patient areas when not in use.
Report any safety issues or needed repairs to the maintenance team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a hospital, nursing home, hotel, or healthcare setting.
Knowledge of standard cleaning products and safety practices.
A caring, respectful attitude when working around patients receiving mental health care.
Minimum Qualifications:
