JOB SUMMARY
The IT Security Administrator, under the direction of the IT Security Manager, is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enforcing the organization’s information security controls, systems, and processes. This role manages the day‑to‑day administration of security technologies, user access, monitoring, and compliance activities to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enterprise information systems.
The IT Security Administrator will administer, monitor, and audit security and information technology systems. This role will assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures, policies, and security standards for the organization and for IT‑related projects.
Additionally, the IT Security Administrator will serve as senior security personnel and act as an escalation point for security analysts, providing guidance on incidents, investigations, auditing requirements, and security best practices.
Participates in IT on call rotation and may assist with system administration / networking tasks as needed.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with facilitation and promotion of activities to create information security awareness within the organization, including matters of strict confidence.
- Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise security tools, platforms, and technologies.
- Lead the technical implementation of new security solutions, upgrades, and system integrations.
- Manage and monitor user access rights, authentication mechanisms, and role‑based permissions.
- Conduct continuous monitoring of security systems to identify alerts, anomalies, and emerging risks.
- Perform security auditing, log reviews, and compliance checks in alignment with organizational policies and regulatory frameworks.
- Coordinate and execute technical security enhancements to strengthen system confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Assist in the development, revision, and enforcement of Security Standards, Policies, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Serve as an escalation point for security analysts, providing technical guidance on incidents, investigations, and operational processes.
- Support vulnerability management activities, including scanning, validation, documentation, and remediation coordination.
- Assist in incident response operations, including triage, containment, documentation, and post‑incident analysis.
- Maintain documentation for security systems, configurations, change management processes, and audit requirements.
- Collaborate with IT and operational units to ensure security requirements are integrated into projects, systems, and workflows.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and security standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to personnel regarding secure practices, access issues, and approved technologies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Minimum of 3 years of professional Information Technology experience. Experience desired in Cybersecurity, Networking, or Systems Administration is preferred.
Demonstrated experience administering security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IAM, endpoint protection, firewalls, or vulnerability management solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, Entra ID, Rapid7, Tenable).
Demonstrated experience conducting security monitoring, analysis, log reviews, incident response activities, and audits.
Information security certifications preferred (e.g. Security+, CySA+, SSCP).
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Class C Driver’s License and satisfactory motor vehicle record (desirable).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and familiarity of information security principles, frameworks, and best practices (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO).
Knowledge and familiarity of Network, Systems, and Application security concepts, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and threat detection.
Knowledge and familiarity of Incident response processes, forensic considerations, and operational security procedures.
Knowledge and familiarity of change management, configuration management, and audit practices.
Skills in troubleshooting security, network, and system-related technical issues.
Skills in leading technical implementation activities for security solutions and system enhancements.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and exercise sound judgment in handling security matters.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both technical and non-technical personnel.
Ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation related to job duties, including procedures, reports, and technical records.

Minimum Qualifications:
