POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION: Lab Tutor in Welding and Joining Technology program
Location: Paulding Campus

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Part-time position based on semester system. This is an open-ended announcement. Each semester applications will be reviewed.
Responsibilities are centered on assisting all WELD students with their lab work in the following areas: SMAW, GMAW, GTAW and oxyfuel cutting. Along with completion of daily shop tasks. Work location can be at either the Appalachian Campus or Paulding Campus.
NOTE: Lab Tutor positions are part time positions of employment appointed on a per academic term basis. Therefore, your employment is limited and there is no expectation that your association with Chatt Tech will extend beyond this term.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge, work experience, and demonstration of the following areas of study
- Complete knowledge of oxy-fuel cutting techniques
- Recognition of safe operating practices in lab
- Demonstration of math skills
- Degree of proficiency with bandsaw and ironworker
- Ability to read a tape measure and calipers
- Completion of or currently in process of completing Welding and Joining Technology Diploma
- A grade of B or higher in the following courses: (MATH 1005/1012, WELD 1000, WELD1010, WELD 1030, WELD 1040, WELD 1090, WELD 1110) or relevant industry experience.
Preferred Qualification:
- Diploma in Welding & Joining Technology or related field
- 2 or more years of work experience in the Welding Industry
SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary--$15.00 per hour/22 hours per week. There are no State Benefits.
