Job Description:

Lanier Technical College – (www.laniertech.edu) is conducting a search for the following part-time, non benefits-eligible, FLSA-exempt position. POSITION: ADJUNCT NURSE AIDE INSTRUCTOR – Different Campus Locations Available

REPORTS TO: Nurse Aide Coordinator

SALARY: Targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Adjunct faculty responsibilities centered on didactic and/or clinical instruction to include preparing and teaching classes as assigned. Allied Health faculty and/or instructional staff must direct student learning and assess student progress in achieving the requirements of the program in the appropriate learning domains. Classes will be taught online and/or in the classroom setting among multiple campuses; day and evening classes are available.

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus. Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives;

• Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught; Displays a positive professional attitude toward students and teaching;

• Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives; Reports to and provides a periodic performance appraisal to the Program Chair and/or Allied Health Instructors;

• Administers and grades class examinations;

• Maintains records of student grades and maintains student files;

• Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed;

• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training and laboratory areas;

• Meets ALL required deadlines; Completes ALL mandatory training;

• Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma in medical field or health science from a regionally accredited college or university;

· One years of relevant work experience;

· Valid GA Nursing License;

· Demonstrated competencies in specific course content (coursework, license, certification, etc.)

· Ability to obtain GA Nurse Aide "Train the Trainer" certification within 60 days of hire, if do not already have.

· Ability to stand for long periods of time;

· Ability to bend, perform body mechanics, lift 25 - 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation

COMPETENCIES:

· Knowledge of course standards and skill/expertise in subject area

· Ability to understand, accept and follow instructions

· Skill in the operation of work-related computers

· Appropriate oral and written communication skills that effectively communicate information to students who might function as the new, beginning, or advanced level

· Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare lesson materials

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint · Effective decision making and problem-solving skills

· Flexibility to adjust work hours based on the needs of the college

· Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fair and unbiased manner, and to maintain a pleasant, professional relationship with students and faculty/staff

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level

· Experience with online teaching platforms Previous or current long-term care work experience

· GA Nurse Aide Train-The-Trainer certification

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
